What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?

Luckily, I have a few. The two that have provided constant intermissions from the day-to-day stresses, the routine but nevertheless tough responsibilities of adult life and marriage, and the unexpected jolts from both being a urologic surgeon and having adult children.

Finding myself alongside my wife on a beach and ocean is absolute bliss. Ambergris Caye, Turks and Caicos, Cap Cana, Anguilla, Hawaii, Cabo San Lucas, or Harbour Island—after one to two days, I completely decompress.

I also find a similar comfort and almost ethereal zen on our Chaparral 23-foot boat cruising Lake Tyler—listening to music, swimming, and cruising for hours.

Traveling with my wife, with or without our kids, to Spain, Portugal, Italy, France, or England brings a different kind of escape. I dive deep into the history of each place and probably take enough photos and videos to make a documentary.

And lastly, our apartment in Dallas. Walking into it feels like arriving at a resort—it’s an escape from everyday responsibilities and a chance to enjoy city life with my wife.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?

I am a board-certified urologist in Tyler, Texas, practicing for over 20 years. I graduated valedictorian from the University of North Texas Health Science Center, Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine.

After six additional years of training beyond medical school, I developed a niche in both male and female sexual medicine, pelvic floor disorders, and reconstructive surgery—an area most specialists choose to approach from only one side.

I hold a trademark on the Minimally Invasive Single Incision Sling (MISIS) for women with stress urinary incontinence and have been awarded a Center of Excellence designation for penile prosthetic surgery.

My goal is to help establish UT Health East Texas as a leader in both male and female reconstructive sexual medicine.

What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?

During a general surgery residency interview in New Orleans, I found myself unprepared, hungover, and surrounded by candidates with elite academic pedigrees.

When asked to share something not already on my application, I chose honesty. I admitted my situation plainly and without excuses.

That moment taught me the power of being honest and simple. Credentials matter, but trust, accountability, and authenticity matter more.

What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?

I draw wisdom from my father, the Bible—especially the book of James—and from embracing challenges head-on.

Hardship is inevitable. Growth comes from accepting it, learning from it, and staying grounded in faith and discipline.

What do you believe is true but cannot prove?

I believe in God and in Christ Jesus.

The complexity of the universe, human DNA, consciousness, and emotion cannot reasonably be explained as random or accidental. Something cannot come from nothing.

Faith fills the gap where proof cannot.

Are you tap dancing to work?

Working alongside my wife in our company, Elite Enhancement of East Texas, brings me absolute joy. Every weekend feels like a mini vacation.

We specialize in men’s health, sexual medicine, and cosmetic enhancement, and the satisfaction of restoring confidence to our patients is unmatched.

Recently, we were honored to become the first UroFill Center of Excellence in the United States and I was named a UroFill Master Injector.

At 55 years old, I cannot imagine being anywhere else. I am truly happy.
